Dee walked briskly toward the seediest pub in Margate, The Mechanical Elephant. He'd gone in the first time, attracted by the odd name and, once inside, felt strangely reminded of some of the holes-in-the-wall he used to go to in the Bronx.

The food was good, though, and the barkeep knew a lot of jokes that couldn't be told in good company. Dee liked him a lot, and made a point of having at least one meal a week there.

He opened the door and he and Ianto walked in. Dee greeted the barkeep, grabbed two pints and sat down with Ianto. "Here, warm as piss, the way you like it," he said out loud, grinning when Tom, the barkeep, answered, "Cold beer is for heathens!"

Dee waited for Harry to join him at the door of the Black Pot and together they walked to Dee's apartment. On the way, passing by the beach, Dee commented that it was too cold to swim, but it was still decent weather to jog. "Would you like to do it? We can wear sweats."

Dee and Charlie have been scarce because I've been trying to finish all my challenges before the NaNo - failed miserably, as I still have one due very, very soon. And they'll be sort of scarce during November, too, due to the NaNo.

They probably won't let me write in peace, though. Both of them are having too much fun in Margate.

Dee took a long shower, letting the water wash away the sand and the salt crystals on his body. Then, just to be a nice roommate, he cleaned the shower stall of the sand and grime. It was not something he realy liked to do, but he hated walking into a gritty shower, so he gave Ianto the same consideration.

He walked naked to his bedroom and looked at himself in the mirror. He smiled. The exercise was keepng him well-toned and the exposure to the sun had given him a light tan that went quite well with his dark hair and greenish eyes.

Maybe Margate was not that bad.

He dressed in jeans and t-shirt and laced his sneakers. Then he went to The Mechanical Elephant to meet Gideon for a beer and a bite.

I'm in the middle of a move and it's been insane. Dee and Charlie will, therefore, be erratic until the 24th, most probably. As I have time and internet connection, I'll try to answer their threads, but, unfortunately, work comes first on the internet/free time usage :(

Charlie, who believes he's come to a better place, is overjoyed.
